Hi, my name is Alison
Ford and I started breeding Russian Blue cats because my family and I just
love them! My husband Scott and children Jacob and Tayla love helping
me out and playing with the kittens.
We live in Port Stephens
which is just north of Newcastle, NSW. I have now
been breeding Russian Blue cats since 2004 and have one breeding female at
the moment. Her name is Lollipop.
My aim as a breeder is
to produce the healthiest, most affectionate and well adjusted kittens.
To achieve this, my queen is mated with only the finest quality
studs. My kittens are raised indoors with our family and are
given the very best of everything, and of course heaps of attention.
We also have a beautiful
spay whose name is Anya. She is almost three now.
Due to their quiet
nature Russians are only suited to indoor living. Russian Blue cats are
very adaptable, fitting well into one or two person homes or families
alike. They are able to entertain themselves when left alone (usually
by sleeping) and catch up with you when you return home. They are
affectionate in their own way, and usually have a special person in the
family with whom they are most bonded to. They are not a destructive
cat although it is recommended that they have a scratching post.
There is little
maintenance with your Russian Blue. An occasional groom will do as they
are not prolific shedders and stroking their beautiful double coat will keep them
looking gorgeous. Nail clipping needs to be done on a regular basis
since they are kept indoors and do not get the opportunity to wear their
claws down as an outdoor cat would.
With their stunning
looks, quiet temperament and playful personalities it is very easy to fall in
love with this beautiful breed.
