A Dog is better than a Cat because...  E-mail

As a follow to last week's tongue in cheek look at  "A Cat is better than a Man because..." article is a look at why dogs are better than cats...which if all the previous article is accurate does put the male of the human species somewhat low on the totem pole!

A dog will sit or heel on command...a cat will sit when it damn well wants, and if you want it to heel then you better be standing beside it when you usher that command...

If you talk to a dog it will stop tilt its head and concentrate on what you are saying...a cat will look at you amazed anything that tall and stupid has vocal cords.

Image A well trained dog will obey its owner blindly...there is no such thing as a well trained cat.

Dogs will play fetch with anything...at best a cat will bring you a dead mouse or bird.

A dog will bring you your slippers or your newspaper...a cat will sleep in your slippers and pee on your newspaper.

If a dog is outside it makes a very good watch dog...a cat is annoyed at being outside in the first place and will only follow the burgular to get back inside to sleep.

A dog will allow you to wash it...a cat will mortally wound you if you even suggest water within earshot of it

A dog understands that the man is the 'alpha male' of the household...a cat doesn't recognise the male as anything more than face to sleep on at night.

A dog seems to sense when you are in need of a friend, when you are down, when you are sad...a cat will take one look at you, realise that it is not getting fed anytime soon and go back to sleep.
